Max Started This in His Grandfather's Basement With Old Plywood

MTG Industries was founded in 2015 and officially incorporated in 2016 as a Benefit Corporation by Maximilian Thomas Gaichas (MTG) — a student at Pine-Richland High School in Gibsonia, PA, and an avid skateboarder, longboarder, and snowboarder.

Back in Autumn 2015, Max was cutting his own longboard decks out of old pieces of plywood in his grandfather's basement woodshop. After adding grip tape, trucks & wheels to his handmade decks, he rode them, modified them, and kept making them better.

After realizing he couldn't build everything himself, months of planning and research led to the selection of US-based design and manufacturing partners. In August 2017, the WildLife Series was released — and a brand was born.

Why We Do This

Our Mission &
Values

Best Quality, Always

We use the best materials and manufacturing techniques available. In a world where most brands are in a race-to-the-bottom, MTG Industries boards are made to last and to perform. When you buy MTG, you know you're getting the finest product on the market.

Made in the U.S.A.

As long as there are manufacturing facilities in the US making the best boards, our boards will continue to be made here. MTG Industries contractors are paid a fair, prevailing (or better) wage, and we only partner with US-based manufacturers who treat their workers well.

Benefit Corporation

MTG Industries was founded as a Benefit Corporation — a for-profit company dedicated to doing good. Most companies only care about lowering costs. We care about our workers, our communities, our wildlife, and our planet. Every purchase makes a real difference.

Community & Conservation

We Give Back

Every purchase of an MTG Industries branded product supports organizations working to protect wildlife, preserve wild places, and build stronger communities.

🦅

Western Pennsylvania Conservancy

A nonprofit dedicated to wildlife and land preservation, clean waterways, and healthy forests — including the preservation of Fallingwater, Frank Lloyd Wright's masterpiece of architecture.

🌍

Global Wildlife Conservation

A nonprofit dedicated to protecting endangered species and habitats through science-based field action around the world. Your purchase directly funds their conservation work.

🛹

Skateburgh

MTG Industries is the marquee sponsor of Skateburgh — Western PA's most inclusive summer skateboard competition. Everyone is welcome — get a board and get out there!

♻️

Up-cycling Initiative

We're developing projects to preserve the value of our products at the end of their useful life — turning worn decks into art objects, useful items, or raw materials for new products.

"Finish what you need to do — and then get out and skate!"

Maximilian Thomas Gaichas (MTG) founded MTG Industries while attending Pine-Richland High School in Gibsonia, Pennsylvania. He began cutting his own longboard decks from old plywood in his grandfather's basement woodshop — constantly riding, modifying, and improving his creations.

What started as a personal passion grew into a mission: to build a brand that proved American manufacturing wasn't just possible — it was superior. After months of research, Max selected US-based design and manufacturing partners and launched the WildLife Series Skateboard Decks in August 2017.

MTG Industries is built on the belief that a good life comes from achieving a balance between our responsibilities and the fun, healthy activities we choose to do. So, finish what you need to do, and then get out and skate!
